If the negativ is 50", how big will this be enlarged for the presentation? What size will the book be?

20x24 Studio We had a
great time at Impossible Project's ICP event last Friday. For Polaroid fans,
you can still get the last of Polaroid's film production in many film types.

www.polapremium.com
Early in 2010 The Impossible Project will release a new instant film. In order to shorten the waiting period until its premiere, we are proud to be able to present the last original Polaroid film – repackaged ...

Iam confused by all of this. I was under the impression that Polaroid ceased production quite a while ago. What is the origin of this film and was it really produced in all of these varieties. Why was the general public never made aware of these films before. Is this the type of film to expect from The Impossible Project? In my opinion there is too ... See Moremuch variety and its all waay too expensive. My recollection of SX70 film was there was a very LARGE margin of error involved and to expect a fine art masterpiece of each exposure is unrealistic at best. Purchasing this film is a large financial expense and requires a real leap of faith to participate. As a matter of fact back in the mid seventies when I purchased my first SX70, Polaroid included a certificate that allowed you to send in poor exposures and for every ten you redeemed to Polaroid, they would send you a certificate for a free pack of film. Needless to say I used this privilege/loophole quite a bit until they shut it down.I think The Impossible Project should concentrate on a clear crisp reinvention of the product that is affordable to the masses once that will effectively wean the general public off free digital images that are easily disposed onto a tangible piece of their life's history/story that they can keep and share with the rest of the world forever. I cannot wait for this new film and new cameras that will exploit them. Hurray for The Impossible Project!

20x24 Studio In memory of Peter Bass, who passed away last week. Peter played an important role in developing the 20x24 and 40x80 cameras as well as the film production for them.

Eelco Wolf

Eelco Wolf Just heard from Elsa Dorfman that Peter Bass died. Peter was a loyal Polaroid technician. He was the one who helped guarantee the continuous flow of Polaroid 20 x 24 film to our studios and artist clients. He did that under very difficult circumstances. He was a friend. My condolences to his family.

20x24 Studio 691 fans prompts another beloved former Polaroid film, Type 691, a Polacolor transparency intended for overhead projectors. I used it and the larger 891 to make many of my 4 panel transfers in the 1980s.

always wanted to use 691 to make MF-sized 3-D transparency pairs. Instant MF3D. I was born 20 years late.

20x24 Holdings is not working on bringing back 8x10 but Impossible Project is. I imagine they need to bring their integral product to market first and then look to other formats. I wouldn't expect it until late 2010 at the earliest.
