I love film for it's speed / price. But can you get film cameras - No. More the pity us. Our digital photos will consist of nothing more than staged scenes. Nothing candid. :( Our loss

the beauty of film grain does not compare to the awkwardness of the pixel, digital looks flat as well- digital is not all bad in terms of the flexibility and speed of its output as very useful in for example medical photography/imaging- feel a bit sorry about the people who have not experienced effect and craft of film - still- digital is always being developed, i have read in the future stills will be taken from moving film, though a Fuji bloke said he thinks it will be the other way round mmm

35mm Film The size of a 35mm frame of film is STILL between 22 and 38x the size of the sensor in your typical consumer digital compact!

Magnus, the first figure is more typical but the second figure isn't that unusual. Manufactures still think the answer to improving quality in digital compact cameras is to increase the pixel count, but until sensors get a lot bigger things aren't going to get better any better in terms of resolution as they exceeded that years ago, that's why film compacts are still at an advantage when it comes to bigger enlargements and higher ISO's compared to digital compacts, unlike in SLRs.

35mm Film Personally I don't see how this is great an idea, I'm sure if it's successfull people will just not buy film for a while.

Despite the present day predominance of Digital photography over film there remains a large, world-wide following of film users. For many reasons they still prefer images created by Silver Halide, and...
