Thanks to the vets who cared for this pup, to Joanna who sent out a plea for help, to Christi who responded and took "Hope" in when I forwarded the plea, and everyone who has stepped up to help. Chri...sti suspects that Hope was used as bait for fighting dogs. Hope is recovering now from her wounds and will probably need more than one surgery. You can follow her story at the link below.

8 State Hurricane Kate / Jenny Pavlovic Bandit is home from the vet after having his torn dewclaw removed. It was very painful and hanging by a thread. He's groggy, but doing well. I hope our last-minute pre-holiday vet visits are over. It beats forcing hydrogen peroxide down his throat on the tailgate of my truck in the Walgreens parking lot on Christmas Ev...e 2007 after he ingested mouse poison at a relative's house. We all came through it ok. Whew!

If you lose a microchipped pet, contact the microchip co right away--they may send out a bulletin to the vets, rescues, and impunds in your area. If you find a pet with no ID, scan it w/ a universal reader to read all frequ...encies. At the next vet visit, ask the vet to scan your pet's chip to make sure it's still readable.
