A Global Friendship is a young, dynamic, environmentally conscious non-profit organization whose aim is to help develop communities in poorer nations.

In 2004, Elizabeth Firgeleski, A Global Friendship’s Founder and CEO, set out to Thailand for one month to figure out and develop her goal of developing poorer nations. On December 26th, Elizabeth was on a beach in Thailand when the first waves of the tsunami struck. Elizabeth, like many that morning, had to struggle to safety. While injured, Elizabeth was unable to help in the immediate, she vowed to go back and help those who were so incredibly gracious in helping her to safety.

In 2007, Elizabeth launched A Global Friendship using personal funds. In 2008, Elizabeth and a team visited a Thai orphanage that is 90% tsunami survivors. AGF team developed a plan to donate a water filtration system and to build a new computer room for the children.

Mission:: A Global Friendship partners with disadvantaged communities and artisans in developing countries to help move them towards self-sustainability. We do this through micro-finance, steering artisan's creativity to what is most marketable here in the West. We teach them small business skills, and help them forge lasting partnerships with businesses in the West. AGF is a green organization that teaches these artisans and our community the importance of using renewable resources and materials that have the least impact on Earth.

Our mission is aligned with the UN’s Millennium goals and works to achieve these four goals: Global Partnership, End Poverty & Hunger, Equality for Woman and Environmental Sustainability
