OK, whilst I agree with him, there is an awful tendency that investigative journalism has been somewhat replaced by constant commentry on social media.

In my mind, journalists have the difficult transition of finding the place where they can use and embrace social media witout letting it eclipse good quality investigation & analysis.

I am no Turnbull supporter, but really Twitter is just an extension of the public relations arm of the political machine for politicians, so why should we be either surprised or outraged by this? The medium of Twitter gives us a sense of intimacy which is very seductive, but ultimately false.
