        • Show specials: Make 'em an offer they can't refuse
          AMOA Share
NEWSFLASH! Exclusive! Breaking story! Off-The-Top has just learned from informed sources that exhibitors want to see more current and potential buyers at their booths, and also desire to sell stuff to them while they're at the show. Others speaking on condition of anonymity also reported that show attendees are motivated to pur...chase stuff when there is a financial incentive involved.

Based on these shocking revelations, the Amusement Expo has put together a program to help buyers and sellers realize their respective goals: The 2012 Amusement Expo Show Specials Program.

It's simple and free. Exhibitors identify an "offer" they would like to make on one or more of their products, programs or services to attendees, and that's it!

The offers will be listed on the show's official website, in the Official Expo directory and in Off-the-Top. To call attention to exhibitors who are part of the program, big yellow "Show Specials" balloons will be displayed at the booths of participating firms.

Here's an example: "ABC Games Company is offering Amusement Expo attendees $200 off our game kit — limited to the first 50 who make a purchase at the show."

It sparks attendees' attention, draws traffic to the exhibitors' booth, stimulates sales, the buyer gets a deal and everybody wins. What a novel approach!

It's one of those "nothing ventured, nothing gained" type of offerings. So, exhibitors: Why not give it a try?

The deadline is February 10, 2012. To sign up, exhibitors can download a registration form here.

            • ‎2012 Membership Renewals are underway...shouldn't you be one of them!

What's the number one benefit of being part of AMOA? The networking, the contacts and the intangible value of belonging to an organization of people who share the passion for the business ... just like you.

There's a reason why most — dare I say virtually all — of the most successful route operators call themselves AMOA mem...bers. AMOA provides the forum — it IS the forum — for owners and executives from leading industry businesses to exchange ideas and learn from one another.

There's also a reason why most of those leading companies have been AMOA members for decades — representing two, sometimes three generations of family business owners — since the organization's inception in 1948: The benefit(s) of belonging.

So, while there's a dollars and cents payback that factors into the annual decision to join AMOA, there's also the intangible return on investment that prompts many to continue to be part of the fold.

However you define the benefit(s) of belonging, AMOA invites and welcomes your participation this year. If you have not yet renewed, we encourage you to join us again in 2012.

Renewing is fast and easy: Just go to www.amoa.com and click on the link "Pay Your Member Dues Online Here," fill in the info and click submit.

That simple! You can also call AMOA and renew over the phone 800-937-2662

            • Today is the first Friday the 13th of the year. Brace yourself--there will be three more "unlucky Fridays" in 2012. Here at AMOA world headquarters, we are also digging out from the first measurable snow of the season. All this cold and snow makes me think of how nice it will be to be in sunny, warm Vegas in March for the annual AMOA/AAMA Amusement Expo to see all the new products available....

Speaking of new products, if your company will be an exhibitor at this year's Expo, and you will be introducing new equipment, why not enter it or them in the prestigious Innnovator Awards program? It's easy and FREE to enter. Here's a link below to sign up. We look forward to seeing everyone in Vegas...it's just two months away!.
