Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation has voted to approve the nominations of Mignon L. Clyburn and Meredith Attwell Baker to be FCC Commissioners. The nominations now go to the full senate for a vote.

APTS The full House Appropriations Committee will mark up the Labor, Health, Education and Transportation, HUD bill on Friday, July 17 at 9:00 a.m. The bill includes the $40 million stabilization funding for public television stations, and the mark up should include a robust discussion of this funding.

APTS Last night, the House of Representatives passed the FY 2010 Commerce, Justice, Science Appropriations bill by a vote of 259 to 157 (visit http://clerk.house.gov/cgi-bin/vote.asp?year=2009&rollnumber=408 to see how your Members voted). The House vote leaves intact the $20 million that the House Appropriations Committee ...restored to the PTFP program earlier this month. This is a major victory for public television.
