Our exciting period of nearly daily sunspot activity ended with the first spotless day on November 23 and the Sun has been blank since then. A look at the STEREO image shows a bright active area, perhaps five days over the eastern horizon, but we don't know if that will give us sunspots or not...

Again? I thought people finally got the message! Waivers are for specific use, and are to be an exception and not a rule. We are the final back-up, not the first! An exception to this would be Skywarn spotters who are not NOAA employees just as an example. What seems to be the violations people are into now? Misuse and abuse of waivers already? Is that it?

I have been reading some of the chatter in QST on this and honestly I wonder how much of a problem is this? Is this really a big issue? Anyone want to share an example of this when you have heard it happen and what negative impact this had to radio operations if any?

If it's someone else's equipment, do nothing. It's a part 15 device and has to accept any and all interference including that which would cause undesired operation. If it's in your own home, well, RF chokes may work.

Some years ago when I took the ARECC (Amateur Radio Emergency Communications Course), I discovered an aspect of the hobby of which I'd been unaware: Formal traffic. One of the exercises in the course said that I should compose a formal message and then send it to my ARRL Section Manager.

Sunspot 1029 made its trip around the Sun and has re-emerged as sunspot 1032. A new sunspot 1033 has come over the Sun's eastern limb. This steady appearance of sunspots has raised the MUF over many paths, and 15 meters is beginning to open regularly.
