After the leaves are gone from the hardwoods, late Fall/early Winter take on their own colors in the mountains. The evergreens, needle trees such as the pine and broad leaf trees like the mountain laurel, add their deep greens to the mountainsides...
After the leaves are gone from the hardwoods, late Fall/early Winter take on their own colors in the mountains. The evergreens, needle trees such as the pine and broad leaf trees like the mountain laurel, add their deep greens to the mountainsides...
The colors have been fantastic this year! October has been a bit rainy, which has knocked some of the leaves off the trees, but even so, Nature is still putting on a great show. And, heck, even the Brevard Wal-Mart looks good with the painted mountainside as a backdrop.
Late summer arrives and so do the mushrooms. The last 3 years have been so dry that there haven't been many, but this year...WOW...I have identified 63 different varieties here on our property, some are deadly poison and some are choice edibles...
ASH GROVE Resort Cabins & Camping Had a nice little hike in Dupont State Forest this afternoon. Drove back to Ash Grove the long way. Took a great photo of the dam at Cascade Lake.

ASH GROVE Resort Cabins & Camping I couldn't find Lechee nuts at the supermarket yesterday, but I found some oversized pearl onions to have on the buffet table for last night's Ash Ghoul Halloween party. Most of our guests came and we all had a great time.

ASH GROVE Resort Cabins & Camping Double the number of people in a campsite designed for 6 and you too will be sent packing! Do people think that we have just set the max per site for no reason? More than the max of people creates negitive environmental impact on the sites.
ASH GROVE Resort Cabins & Camping It really is a surprise to people that when we tell them only 4 people can stay in a cabin that is what we mean. Trying to sneek more into the cabin only results in me telling them that they can pack up and leave.
