BACKGROUND:
Born in rural England, Aaron is the son of artist Linda Slater and blues singer and flute virtuoso MUTTER SLATER – a member of the successful 70’s folk band STACKRIDGE, famed for having played twice at the first Glastonbury Festival.
Inspired by Motown and then Britpop, Aaron formed a band in 1996, began writing songs and went on to produce a professional demo for Interscope Records in Los Angeles. With positive feedback, and with pop-hopefuls ELECTRASY (Columbia) and ELLIOT GREEN (Playtime), he continued to write songs and perfect his showmanship on stage.
After moving to London, Aaron continued performing as a solo singer/songwriter on the acoustic circuit, and was spotted by TAKE THAT’s MARK OWEN who asked him to co-write and audition for his next tour.
In 2005, he signed to US record label FIBERLINEAUDIO and released singles Alien To Me and Super Natural. Picked up by DJs NICK WARREN and JODY WISTERNOFF, ‘Alien To Me’ became a regular track in their sets at Space in Ibiza, the Miami WMC 2006 and on JOHN DIGWEED’s KISS FM show.
Now, with the backing of POPSHOP, 1 2 ONE MANAGEMENT and UNIVERSAL MUSIC, Aaron Slater’s solo career is looking very promising, being widely tipped for commercial success in 2009.
