Matilda is a 9 month old female blue brindle pit bull. She came to AFA as a stray from Latrobe in excellent condition. We've had no success in trying to find her family and it has been over two weeks. Matilda is very sweet and very smart but pit bulls become extremely stressed... in a shelter environment so we are asking for your help to find her a good home fast. She is a GREAT dog!!!Read More

Action For Animals Humane Society - Matching People and Pets Since 1983
Action For Animals Humane Society How cute are these guys? AFA works with local open door shelters to take in overflow of animals when we have space. These guys just arrived today from a local open door shelter that was short on space. They will receive vet checks, shots, meds if necessary and will be spayed or neutered in our fantastic surgery wing asap!
Action For Animals Humane Society would like to give special thanks to Team Tastyland (Rte 66) who was this year's 1st place business team with most money raised at our Walk for the Animals!
Action For Animals Humane Society will be holding 2 Rabies Clinics on Saturday, October 17th at Ligonier Agway from 1:30pm to 3pm AND Sunday, October 18th at AFA Shelter from 2pm to 5pm. Shots cost $9 per pet. All pets must be 3 months of age or older and in good health. Please have dogs on leashes and cats in carriers.

would like you to meet JUDY!
Judy arrived at the shelter a few days ago, She is a 4-5 month old spaniel mix with severe injuries to her hind leg. Most likely her leg will need amputated and thanks to those who donate to our emergency fund...she will be taken care of ASAP. SWEET GIRL!!
