END OF YEAR BBQ FUN DAY
As our gift to you this festive season we would like to invite you and your family to our first Annual Homeschool Excursions End of Year BBQ fun day.
This will be held on Wednesday the 9th of December, 2009 at the Inner City Quarries Park get together – Ramsden St, Clifton Hill (melways ref 44 F1)....
This event is open to all, however those who have not been able to join Homeschool Excursions on an outing this year will need to bring a gold coin donation to cover the extra costs.
Sausages in bread will be provided along with a small gift for each child that attends.
We ask that you please bring a plate of sweets (biscuits, cake etc.) to share.
Also for those who may have done some Spring cleaning recently please feel free to bring along some unwanted but functional goodies free to a good home.
Bringing your own chairs and/or picnic blankets would be recommended.
For Catering and Gift purposes those attending MUST RSVP by Friday the 4th of December, 2009 to hs.excursions@gmail.com – please include the number of adults and children attending and also the gender/age of the children attending.

2 of my bubs hard at work today in class. Yikes, they broke a branch!!! At least it wasn't the one they were on.
I basically had a crappy day today. It was one of those troughs. Then I was in my ensuite this evening, looking at my hair in the mirror, trying to find grey hair.. then the most amazing thing!!! I cou...ld hear someone reading. Reading quite well. This was after midnight, mind you. I put my ear to the wall, and through it, I could hear my 15 year old step-son, who, until I had taken him out of school, HATED books/reading (or rather the school experience) because he couldn't read at 13. He was reading quite fluently to my 7 year old son, who shared the room with him!! My 7 year old had asked me to read to him, but I'd told him it was a bit late, and to go to bed! So this??! Music to my ears. It wasn't so much the flow of my step-son's reading.. it was the fact that he no longer had an aversion to books, to reading in front of people. He CHOSE to do it because it gave another person pleasure.. his small annoying step-brother to boot. :-) Stuff the literacy.. It was the confidence, the dawn after a dark night, that I was hoping for. Baby steps. Yay!!!

Robyn O'Connor Hi All! I am seeking any info on a Gippsland support group. Will definately link in with the great excursions organised through this group but am hoping to connect with some homeschooling families locally. Next year I am going to homeschool my 11 year old son who has Auditory Processing Disorder, Visual Processing ann...omilies as well as other tracking and decoding issues. He is a lovely keen little man who is very excited about schooling next year. I have homeschooled other children before in NSW but would love to hear from anyone who could give me some heads up on the registration process here in VIC.
