Australia Council Music Bound quick response travel fund
The 'music bound quick response travel fund' will help Indigenous music coordinators attend professional development opportunities; locally and nationally.
The objective of this program is to support Indigenous arts workers to have greater access to industry devel...opment opportunities.
The Indigenous 'quick response' fund will allow:
> greater access to professional development at music industry trade fairs and festivals
> increased networking opportunities (to funders and other sponsors)
> more profile for Indigenous music coordinators, artists and their art in the music industry
> better contact between industry organisations, Indigenous artists and audiences.
How much is available?.......$1,000 maximum per application.
A fixed budget will be available each year.

Word has it that the assessment panel found this the toughest round ever to assess and that some REALLY hard decisions had to be made.
The final outcome is that the muso's below were successful in receiving funding for this round.
CONGRATS to all of you who were successful! To those of you who weren't, and would like to ...look at maybe applying again - feel free to give me a call to talk through it.
The recipients for this round are:

$655 in support of 'Explorer', a demo CD
Helen Ellis
$1,000 towards master and manufacture a demo CD
City Riots
$10,000 towards a tour to the USA in 2009.
Former Child Stars
$4,000 towards the marketing and distribution of a new EP.
Folk Federation of South Australia
$4,000 towards a SA folk music compilation CD.
Galleon
$5,000 to promote Foreshore's name change to Galleon and promote the debut album
Laura Hill
$7,000 towards recording, marketing and distribution of an LP.
Daniel Randell
$4,000 in support

Music people of Adelaide...Tune into our very own FreshFM this Friday (17 October) at 5.15pm to hear the winner of the 2008 Hilltop Hoods funding announced live to air and being presented with the $5000 cheque from no other than the Hoods themselves!
Then switch over to NOVA for live to air interviews and music by the mysterious winner!
