AfroBrazil

AfroBrazil Inspired by the rich musical tradition of the city of Salvador in the Brazilian state of Bahia, the show presents the religious and folkloric music and dances interpreted by some of the best Brazilian artists.

The first part focus on the music and dance of Brazilian Candomble an Afro-Brazilian religion, largely originat...ed and developed in the city of Salvador. Rhythms specific to some of the Orixas deities will be played while dancers will perform the traditional steps and movements. The religion and its rhythms is part of the foundation of all Brazilian popular music and have kept alive the African heritage across the centuries.

A typical aspect of Brazilian culture is not incorporate aspects of different cultures and out of them produce something different and yet unquestionably Brazilian.

This is true also for the music played in the second part of the show, that is the music tradition of the rural part of the state of Bahia. Styles like samba de roda, samba de raiz incorporate different influences and produces something uniquely Brazilian. Influence rage from Candomble, European Polka, African Lundu, Maxixe, Maracatu and even more contemporary styles like Blocos Afro.
The result is an energetic music, full of popular references and infectious grooves.
