Whale Sharks in the Maldives! With many reports of whale shark activity in the massive lagoon of Gangehi Faru on the northern most tip of Ari Atol, there was no way we weren’t going in for a piece of the action. No scuba for this encounter. Mask, fins, snorkel, and of course, camera! The Dohni positioned us right in fr...ont of the whale sharks path, and it was an experience of a lifetime. The inside of the lagoon is only about 30-35 ft deep which made it easy to follow the 30+ ft long whale shark for nearly an hour without it dropping over a wall. It was an incredible week! Two very happy couples from opposite sides of the world were happily wed on the island of Makogai in the Fiji islands, Jenny & Chris (USA) and Vladimir & Olga from (Russia). On a beautiful sunny afternoon in traditional Fijian Tapa wedding dresses the two couples confirmed their lifetime of love and commitment to one... another in the presence of the Fijian tala talo (priest) and was witnessed by the passengers and crew of the Fiji Aggressor II and the whole village of Makogai. It was a beautiful service complete with coconut decorations, flower leis and hymns from the village choir. Afterwards everyone enjoyed in the celebration Fijian style with plenty of singing and dancing by the village kids, Kava flowed freely and our chief (Ratu) Sergery made sure no one ended up in the cooking pot. Today was truly a beautiful day one that we all shared and enjoyed together and one that I know none of us will ever forget.......... Vinaka vaka levu.Read More
