Akili Amina Poetic Dream Blog :
There will be a series of interviews done on the blog that will introduce you to some very interesting writers. These writers are also contributors to the E-Book anthology The Sable Acumen. Interview for The Sable Acumen contributor: OLUWANISOLA SEUN EMMANUEL Biography & Accomplishments: I am OLUWANISOLA SEUN EMMANUEL.... I was born on 10th January, 1981 in the city of Kano, in the Northern part of Nigeria, West Africa. I am hailed from Ijebu-Jesa, Osun State, Nigeria. I am a young man of 28, a Christian and a Nigerian. I am a graduate of Federal Polytechnic, Ede, Osun State where I studied Business Administration and Management and graduated with Distinction at Ordinary and Higher National Diploma levels. I am a Graduate Member of the Nigerian Institute of Management (GNIM).Let me say here that I became what I am today by the special grace of God. There are lots to say here in respect to my accomplishments. I won lots of awards and have quite alarming credits and honours. Some of such honours and award could be found on my blog. Parts of my accomplishments are also my works widely published and read by millions of people all over the world. This could be found in different blogs, websites, and publishing firms/companies sites, forums (publications and patents). Likewise, I had initiated lots of groups/associations for humanitarian services and some others, being one of the initiators e.g. Potential Managers’ Club. I cannot mention these one by one but you can visit my blog www.solaseun.blogspot.com for details about this. Can you tell those that are interested why you became a writer? I remember clearly where I started the whole thing. I actually love reading and most time just feel like writing and not quite sure of what to write. I may hold the pen for hours without writing anything. I am passionate about it. I started by writing small publications in churches, for clubs, in bulletins, magazines and tracts. I became a writer because it is what I am gifted of. It runs through me mostly when I see something or feel like passing a very vital message across. At times it looks like fun or adventure. All my works have background i.e. what prompted each of them. I don’t just write, especially my poems, they are emotionally driven. However, I became more interested in writing during my final year at the polytechnic. From 2007 till date, I have written lots of articles, poems, etc which cut across spirituality, entertainment, management, finance, etc. I started writing poems in the year 2008, sometime around August, during my service year when I have lots of time for myself. I discovered I could do this and more inspired to write it. My second poem, AT TIMES I WONDER, came second at the TACU POETRY competition and over 6,500 views had read one of my articles on Ezine Articles website. What author inspired you to write and what was it about their work that moved you the most? I am used to reading spiritual, inspirational and motivational books aside those ones that are mandatory at the institution (laugh). I am inspired by the works of Chris Oyakilome, the pastor of Christ Embassy. I love the way he published his books. Another author is Pastor Gbile Akani. Other authors that inspired me are columnists from the national newspapers. The most important thing however is the gift of God in me that I discovered and utilized. What do you desire to achieve with your work when it comes to your readers or what do you want readers to take away from your work you do? Only one reason have I desired from the readers of my works and that is: that they become a better person by reading such work, understand it, interpret it perfectly and apply it to their lives such that people around them could read my book or work through them and by their actions. I tell you, nothing more. What are your future aspirations for your writing career? I have lots of aspirations for my writing career. I hope to reach at least 75% of the world’s population with my works. At least every human being must find one or more of my books applicable to his/her life. No matter the works of life, you should be able to lay your hand on at least one of my work. I am also aspiring to partner with other notable and reputable writer to write history-changing books and articles and one of the reasons for partnering with TACU POETRY and THE SABLE ACUMEN. I never aspired to make it my major concentration, that is, my full career, because I have strong passion for administration/management of my own business and stronger zeal for my future divine ministry. With this, I will be fulfilled. Where can we find you on the web and how can we contact you? Akili Amina Poetic Dream Blog :
If you are reading this, most likely you have frequented my blog and know a little about my work. If this is the very first time, I welcome you with all my heart and hope that you return soon or subscribe to it.I want to tell you a little story about something that happened this past spring. I was on my way to pick up ...my daughter from Reagan National airport after she graduated from Naval boot camp and while I drove I was doing some heavy thinking. While driving, I was praying and feeling so happy for my daughter’s accomplishments. I couldn’t wait to see her and with my sunroof open while listening to music, life felt really good. I was thanking God for so many things he blessed me and my family with and the closer I got to the airport the more excited I got to see my daughter. Our greeting was tear filled, with long hugs, and ‘you look goods.’ We finally got her stuff into the car and headed home, but while we were riding to the house we began to have a great conversation. She started to tell me how so many girls her age were struggling in so many ways and we both wished it was something we could do. I am a writer and a poet, so when you say something to do, guess what comes to my mind? She and I came up with the concept that we should write a book that had black girl’s perceptions in it so that it could be a help to others. I went to Facebook created a fan page and began to promote the book asking for submissions with that concept in mind. Well, the inquiries came and soon I started to get submissions. I told myself from the start to let this book write itself.I told myself don’t be rigid in accepting work as long as it was a writer who wrote something eloquently, then they were welcome. It was good that I was open to flexibility right from the start because this book concept has had a major makeover. The name was changed to The Sable Acumen which is close to The Black Girl’s Perspective because sable and black have the same meaning. The words acumen and perception both mean the same thing, as well. And, so goes the facelift on the name of the book. Next in line, were the contributors who have various differences ranging from their ages, locations, and sexes. Wow! This book has poets and writers from the US, UK, Ghana, Nigeria, Sweden, and India. This book has people in it from both ends of the color spectrum in it, as well. I plan to do interviews with those authors that are so inclined, so look for more from them later on. But, I invite you to check out the book The Sable Acumen @ www.shop.akiliamina.com. This book is unlike any other E-Book you have ever read in its design and its written artwork. I thank you for your time reading this book and pray that it helps someone to know we are all the same.Shop at Akili Amina's E-Book Store Akili Amina on Facebook"Allow the spirit of Creativity, do a 360" Akili
