I'm thinking about it, if I can muster two weeks off from work later this year. But right now I'm gonna burn 3 weeks of vacation time doing the Ha-Ha and bumming my way around Mexico afterwards.
Priorities, ya know. :-)

Eric Gross Anyone know of any beer can races going on this week?

Sorry we missed this Eric. Ballena Yacht Club has two more in their series on October 16th and 30th. Then most yacht clubs will start up their "Mid Winter" races, but they are typically on the weekends.

Doug Perry

Doug Perry Once again Club Nautique is a local sponsor of the Leukemia Cup Regatta. Our teams raised over $40,000 last year for this worthy cause and they're determined to beat that number this year.

You can help.

Got to the following web-site
http://gsf.regatta.llsevent.org/CaptDoug
and make a contribution of $25 or more....

Attached is a photo of one of the teams during a practice session. They and all the people with these deadly diseases will thank you.

Patrick

Patrick My travels on the Internet brought me to www.safepassagesailing.com. They're advertising at week on board a Sabre 452 with a licensed Skipper for $2400/person (4 people max) down in Mexico. That makes the trip next month in SoCal a real bargan. FYI

Another great app for the iPhone, especially for racers is WindGuru; and, it's free. You can also get the data from their web site.

I also used a Spot tracer. My real time location can be shown on the Facebook Footprint every 10 minutes automatically. This is a cool device. Cost about $150 for the device and $150 for one year service. Its portable so you can carry it to any car / boat you like!
