Brenda Eberwein Parental Alienation is getting way out of hand out here. My sons have been alienated from me for 20 years. Please help people aware of this before our children are destroyed and help change the laws so it wont happen to the next generation.

KUDOS!

Recognizing the significant impact the decline in cruise ship travel has had on Alaska, Governor Sean Parnell continues to advocate for increased tourism opportunities and economic growth for Alaska. The governor is aggressively seeking to bring more tourist dollars to Alaska with a comprehensive strategy to reduce taxes, increase tourism marketing and increase regulatory flexibility. In exchange, the state will require more cruise ship deployments to Alaska.

Governor Sean Parnell also announced his support for a reduction in the tourism head tax from $46 per head to $34.50. The governor is encouraging a reduction with certain offsets for local head taxes -- to eliminate the possibility of taxing tourists twice for the same Alaska destination. Additionally, the governor reiterated his support for corporate income tax credits to incentivize greater Alaska tourism marketing.... See More

"We must make Alaska a more affordable destination to travelers from Outside," Governor Parnell said. "I made it clear to cruise ship executives that we would need public assurances about increased deployments and economic activity in Alaska in exchange for these tax reductions."

Governor Parnell is urging legislators to combine tourism marketing tax credit legislation with the proposal to reduce Alaska's head tax.

After decades of steady growth in the sector, Alaska is facing a 17 percent decline in cruise visitation this summer. That will translate to 140,000 fewer passengers coming here during the four-month cruise season.

Cheyenne Harner Hi Governor!
I am not trying to be a complainer but you really need to do something about these gas prices! These prices are beyond reasonable! This is price gouging and its needs to stop! We have to pay our bills and its aweful having to worry about if we have enough money for gas to last us until next pay day. A...nd you as a consumer shouldn't have to choose between gas money or food money! Please help! Thank you!

Can we get FEMA money for the 6 months of snow we've endured as well as the high winds the Mat-Su experienced in early or mid January? :)

Alaska Governor Sean Parnell In Miami this week I met with approximately thirty Alaskans that own businesses dependent on the travel industry. They paid their way to be there to encourage more cruise travel to Alaska. I joined them and appreciate their efforts. I also met with cruise line officials regarding what could be done to bring more guests... to Alaska to fuel our small businesses and economy.

I realize you're a busy man but I'd like to see at least acknowledgment that you read that note, even if you have a different view on the issue than I do.
