University at Albany - Residential Life Check in for all new freshman and transfers is on Thursday, August 27th. Report directly to the quad you have been assigned to to pick up your keys and other important information. Returning students can begin checking in on Friday, August 28th. University at Albany - Residential Life
University Apartments, both Empire Commons and Freedom Apartments, are 24-hour Quiet independent living complexes for University at Albany juniors, seniors or students who are at least 21 years old.
What to do:
Eligible students interested in apartment housing for 2009 – 10 should initiate the housing application
process ...through myUAlbany on-line. Students should follow the link “Campus Life” followed by the
“Housing Application” link. Please complete the on-line application, save it, and print it out.
Students must bring:
• A copy of the completed application with them to housing sign-up. The on-line applications and
the terms and conditions of the apartment licenses are currently available on myUAlbany.
• Proof that they paid their Housing Deposit.
• Their SUNY Card as proof of identification.
Students who have someone sign-up on their behalf during Open Lottery sign-up, will also need to submit proof that they have paid the Housing Deposit attached to their application.
Housing deposits ($125) must be paid, prior to signing up, to the Bursars Office or online with a credit card using
Epay (http:\\epay.albany.edu). Students will not be permitted to sign up for housing until they have paid their housing deposit.
University Apartments offers both Full-Year and Academic-Year licenses
• Our Full-Year licenses begin on June 4th, 2009 and end on May 16th, 2010 and will be available on Empire
Commons ONLY in Clusters A, C, and G and in Buildings E1 and E3.
• Our Academic-Year licenses begin on August 28th, 2009 and end on May 16th, 2010 and will be available
on Freedom Apartments and on Empire Commons in Clusters B, D, F and building E2.

4 single bedrooms/4 baths Apartment (Buildings E2 and E3 only)
4 single bedrooms/2 baths Apartment
Freedom Apartments:
3 Bedroom Apartment – Includes 2 Standard Doubles & 1 Designed Single (Occupancy: 5
students)
2 Bedroom Apartment – Includes 2 Standard Doubles (Occupancy: 4 students)
1 Bedroom Apartment/Efficiency Suite – Includes 1 Standard Double (Occupancy: 2 students)
