Albuquerque Zen Center will offer an introduction to formal Zen practice on three consecutive evenings.
Monday, January 4 - Posture and Breathing
Tuesday, January 5 - Zendo Etiquette
Wednesday, January 6 - Continuing Practice
Each class will be offered from 5:30 - 7:00 pm. Beginning and experienced students are invited to ...attend. There will be an introductory lecture, formal zazen and a time for questions. Students are asked to register in advance for the classes. A donation of $10 per class or $25 for all classes is suggested.

This Sunday, December 6, at noon, there will be an Open House for Albuquerque Zen Center's childrens' program, the Clear Mind School.
This is a new program being initiated by the Zen center for children 8-12 years old, to explore their relationships through awareness and compassion.
It will provide hands-on teaching..., using games, role plays, art, gardening, nature outings, and more.
Classes meet the first and third Saturday of the month, from 9:30 to 11:30, starting January 9, 2010.
If you are interested in the program for your children, or simply would like to know about it, please come to the Open House. You can visit the school's web site, too, at www.clearmindschool.org. There will be a discussion of the curriculum, a short demonstration of a class activity, and time for questions.
Also, please spread the word about the Open House, to your friends and family who have children between ages 8 and 12!

The Zen center will have a ceremony to commemorate the anniversary on Saturday, Nov. 7, at 10 a.m. The ceremony will be followed by a dharma talk and then lunch. Kyozan Joshu Sasaki, Roshi, may attend and give the talk, his health permitting....
There is a suggested donation of $10 for lunch.

Intensive Practice Week at Albuquerque Zen Center
Join us for a week-long practice intensive from Oct. 26-Oct. 30. Participants commit to attending morning and evening zendo. Each evening will include an hour-long discussion of the selected text: Novice to Master: An Ongoing Lesson in the Extent of My Own Stupidity, by ...Soko Morinaga Roshi.
Intensives offer an excellent opportunity to deepen one's practice and realize greater tranquility amid the busyness of everyday life.
