The race serves as the championship race for the Wheelie Fun Triathlon and Duathlon Series. The triathlon starts off with a beautiful 750 meter swim (1-lap Sprint, 2-laps Olympic) in Portage Lakes on a rectangle course along the beach. Duathletes start off with a 5k out and back run within the park. The triathlon and d...uathlon bike courses (1-lap Sprint, 2-laps Olympic) loop through the country roads surrounding the park. HFP Racing Dedicated in the memory of Alan Boos a 4x winner of this event. For 2008 we’re bringing back the Formula One format which will challenge all ability levels. This race features a 250 meter swim, 7 mile bike and a 2k final run x three. Each race starts 5 minutes after the last finisher.

The future Olympic Triathletes and Duathletes will be featured in this kids triathlon and duathlon. Kids from 7-14 year in age from all across Ohio will be competing in this event. HFP Racing The Women Only Triathlon on Saturday morning featuring a 250 yard swim, followed by a 7 mile bike and finishing with a 2 mile run. This race is the perfect first timer event for those wanting to get their feet wet in the sport of triathlon in a very non-competitive environment.

The Great Buckeye Challenge – located at the beautiful Buck Creek State Park in Springfield, Ohio. With the new location in 2008 at Buck Creek State Park, the Great Buckeye Challenge enjoyed some major upgrades to the bike and run courses. The sprint course will feature an opening 1000 meter rectangle swim along the be...ach, a 20k loop bike course and an out and back run course on a gently rolling bike trail. The mini course will feature the same 1000 meter swim course followed by a 40k loop bike course (same course as the Wheelie Fun Series used in 2005) and finishing with an out and back 10k run on the bike trail. Known best for its association with the largest one-day festival in Ohio – The Woollybear Festival, held every September. Multisport athletes will love the small town feel of this venue as they r...ace through downtown Vermilion and tackle one of the most challenging courses in the series. Triathletes will be treated to a spectacular rectangle swim course (2-laps Olympic, 1-lap Sprint). The Duathletes opening 5k run is out and back featuring a run through downtown Vermilion. The bike courses feature an out and back course for the sprint course and a demanding loop course for the Olympic distance course featuring two Vermilion River gorge crossings. Triathletes will start off with a 750 meter swim (1-lap Sprint, 2-laps Olympic) in East Fork Lake. Duathletes will start off with challenging 5k out and bac...k run. The bike courses feature a rolling loop east of Rt. 125 for both the sprint and international distance races. The final run is an out and back 5k run (1-lap Sprint, 2-laps Olympic) that features a a big hill at the start, then levels out for the remaining run.Read More
