When the souffle fails to rise, or the pumpkin pie doesn’t turn out right, it’s good to have a back-up plan. This is one of ours. Many of you have become aquainted with our line of fruit curds from Elizabethan Pantry, but for those of you who have not, we will be offering a tasting of our favorites; lemon, raspberry, a...nd surprisingly to us, apple!. These spreads are made with all natural ingredients and contain NO artificial flavorings, thus their superlative flavors. Since no tartlet is complete without clotted cream , we will be offering a tasting of ours, also from Elizabethan Pantry. This product is shelf-stable and does not need to be refrigerated until it is opened. It is simply pure, fresh cream, with no added ingredients, and the flavor is unbelievable. We will serve this in our mini tartlet shells which is the final touch to create a delectably spontaneous treat.

About seven years ago, we decided, after much discussion, that fruitcake does not deserve the incredibly bad reputation that it has been handed over the last thirty years. So we made it our goal to bring about a fruitcake renaissance by scouting out the finest fruit ingredients that the world has to offer. After extens...ive research, tasting, and many, many, rejections, we believe that we have put together a very impressive collection. We found these luscious Australian fruits to be beyond compare. Apparently, many of you agree with us, as we have a hard time keeping these extraordinary glaceed fruits on the shelf! Today you can sample each of them. Call us silly, but since fruit IS the main ingredient in fruitcake, it just makes sense that the better the fruit, the better the cake. In addition, we will offer a selection of the candied fruits available at your local grocery store so you can compare for yourselves. We hope you’ll stop by.

We have a real treat for you today! Our friend Lee from the Scrumptious Pantry will come in to do a special tasting of dishes she will prepare with our favorite Herbed Salt as well as some new products that she will introduce today.
Her menu for consists of: bruschetta with olive oil and herbed salt, pasta with fresh t...omatoes and olive oil, oven baked eggplant "croutons", and oven grilled chicken breast with fresh tomato. We’d love for you to stop by and meet Lee and try her new products.

Get ready to decorate your own stellar holiday cookies as you join Betsy Cukla of Hammer Song for a beginner’s hands-on class in cookie decorating. This class will teach you how to make beautifully decorated cutout cookies from start to finish, from rolling out the cookie dough, to perfectly piping Rudolph’s shiny red ...nose. Each participant is led through the cookie making/decorating process under Betsy’s guidance. Several techniques will be explored, including wet-on-wet work, pull work,and marble-izing, with the emphasis on using meringue icing. So join us and learn how to work with an icing bag and pipe away in this Christmas themed class.
The morning class will be held from 10:00AM until 12:30 PM, and the cost is $85.00.In addition, there will be a materials fee of $35.00. The materials kit will include the essential decorating items you will be using during the class and to recreate the cookies at home. You will also receive a step-by-step instruction and recipe booklet. Each student will receive a coupon for 15% off of any item or special order in the store that may be used once, on as many items as you wish, for two months after class date, and a coupon good for a discount at A La Lucia Restaurant. Domenica Marchetti is a writer and cooking teacher who specializes in contemporary Italian home cooking. Her articles have appeared in The Washington Post, Cooking Light, Fine Cooking, and other publications. Her most recent cookbook, Big Night In, has recently hit our shelves, and being the loyal client and nice perso...n that she is, she has volunteered to join us for a special tasting from her previous book, The Glorious Soups and Stews of Italy.
To christen Autumn, Domenica and Nancy will offer tastings of three recipes from this book that they have prepared in advance. Domenica will also make herself available to field questions and autograph her book for you. To make it a party, add wine, and we will be offering wine pairings for the dishes from our friends at The Grape and Bean on Royal Street.It will be a delightful afternoon, so mark your calendars.

Today’s scary menu will consist of: Mummy Dogs, Witches’ Broomsticks, Goblin Grins, Monster Cupcakes, and Green Slime Juice.... You don’t want to miss this one!
All classes will be held at La Cuisine, and doors will open at 9:30 AM and close at 12:30 PM, to allow you some shopping time. The cost for this class is $30.00 plus a $25.00 materials fee, which will include a carry-home bag of useful kitchen tools, and a 15% store discount coupon. All food ingredients will be provided

This tasting will focus on dressing up the bounty of Summer’s produce that is still coming our way. Today we will be offering a tasting of some delightful alternative vinegars and syrups to use i...n your vinaigrettes which are exceptional with fruit salads as well.
Choose between the Martin Pouret Raspberry Vinegar , or our French Fig Vinegar for the perfect compliment to vegetables and fruit. We’d also like to introduce you to the unique flavor of Pomegranate Molasses, as well as the light and refreshing White Balsamic vinegar. We hope you can stop by and pick your favorite.
