Her lst husband was a severe alcoholic and she said he inspired her to work for Prohibition. Her 2nd husband gave her the idea to use a hatchet instead of just singing protest songs.

The tops of two chest-high, horizontal
filing cabinets in my office are still covered with "Hillary" pins (and one solar-powered keyring that flashes her name), so needless to say, thanks for the reminder ! (Yes, there's some Obama / Biden buttons as well, plus a few going back through previous Progressive administrations, so she's in good company !)

I vividly remember that match (and all
the attention surrounding it) and it would not be an exaggeration to say it "revolutionized" the way women were viewed in sports. When Bobby Riggs was demolished on national live TV, attitudes seemed to begin to shift overnight, and though Title IX has to be given the most credit for the renaissance in women's sports over the past 3 decades, that single match was arguably the second biggest factor, so thanks again, Billie Jean !

That's why we need groups like
yours - to remind people about just how hard the struggle was to attain the rights and opportunities that are (thankfully !) taken for granted today (but hopefully not SO taken for granted that they could be slowly lost one at a time through apathy and inattention).
