Had a little girl chat with Cathy and Aidan this morning (technology is awesome when it's working - I am hoping the computer issues I have been having lately have finally passed). Working on my Big Picture class today along with planning some upcoming blog posts...

So fun & interesting to read through the comments this weekend answering the "I would love to be..." question. Some were happy, some sad, some sentimental, some hopeful - thank you for sharing them here...

[ Half circle accent available through Designer Digitals ] My in-laws have a great tradition of waking up early on the 4th of July to either watch (or on some years, run) the annual Butte to Butte 10K...

I would love to see an approach where you don't have much access to your photos or your stories from your past. I don't have any childhood photos accessible and my mom (who had all my stories) passed away a few years ago. I really want to scrap my memories, but it's hard without a "trigger" when you're so photo-oriented. If you have tips for another approach, I'll be there!

Three people will receive a spot in Creativity Prompt's upcoming 6-week class: Capture Your Dream. Capture your dream is an exciting and refreshing new workshop by Creativity Prompt...

Learning a new skill (thanks Grandpa Al for the fun skateboard).Balancing at the park (with Harry Potter wand in hand). Jumping in & swimming. Running through the sprinkler and playing with the neighbor kids. Being silly (lots and lots of that happening around here). Checking stuff out...

Oh Ali, thanks so much for sharing your stories about Simon. It is so encouraging to see how he grown into such a wonderful individual and how much he (as children with ASD often do) teaches us about life!
As for long sleeves in summer - I think the desert analogy is great! But is there one for my son who insists on taking his shoes off as soon as school finishes to run in the grass, puddles and playground equipment even when is close to freezing here in winter??? <-:

We camp out in our backyard. We grill hamburgers and hotdogs and make smores. Then we watch a movie on the portable dvd player. LOL. That's roughing it!
Angel at 8:49am June 27
Our favorite summer tradition is we celebrate the end of the school year by going to the Drive-In Movie. So much fun.

There is something inherent in the essence of this time of year that makes me ready and willing to make all kinds of changes...

There's a great organization here that gives scrapbooking supplies to children of mothers that are in prison. It's called The Baby Fold, and it's located in Bloomington, IL. They set up a day each year for children to make a scrapbook for their mom, to show them what they have been doing while they were away. I believe they also give supplies to ... Read Morethe mother's so they can scrapbook and journal while in prison, a lot of photos from the child's past. I have donated extra stuff to them numerous times. They will pretty much take anything. If you are interested in helping this cause, email me, and I will give you further instructions.

It reminds me of the books we made in 5th grade where our teacher had us pick wallpaper samples for the outside of the book, we used cardboard for the book front & back, she stitched white paper together down the middle (so 8.5 x 11" papers folded in half were the "book pages"), and then we glued it all together with rubber cement.
I'd completely forgotten about that!!
