All Aboard Washington All Aboard Washington's annual meeting is coming up Nov. 14 in Seattle at F.X. McRory’s Steak Chop and Oyster House, 419 Occidental Ave S (2 blocks from King St. Station). We will order off the menu, with individual settlement. AAWA will also collect a $5 donation per person to help cover meeting costs. Meeting will run from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., allowing travel from the north and the south on the Cascades.

"Collective" enterprise? Are you kidding me? I'm pro-rail, but "collective" enterprise isn't what made us the world leaders in passenger rail in the past. Running intelligent, profitable, rail systems with personal pride and individualistic competition did.

I wouldn't get that confused or you're very likely to have people align against the effort for all the wrong reasons.

Obviously they have never seen a Talgo train go by, or they would not be worrying about it blocking fire trucks and ambulances. The Amtrak trains are much faster than freight trains so those arguments aren't really valid. They just want to hold up progress.
