AllAboutRivers.com Whether you live in OR or not, you can help. Bend Paddle Trail Alliance has partnered with a local volunteer to create an economic impact study that will help us determine the economic benefits that whitewater features at the Colorado Dam would bring to the local economy. We ask that you take a few minutes and complete it. Thanks!

Thanks to everyone who has posted comments here and who came out last night to support the project. There were over 100 people at the event which is way more than has attended in the past. I think that show of support made a difference to the parks and rec people. Watch the video at KOHD news.

Next steps are to get the... Parks and Rec board to vote this project into a higher priority project in November or December. You can continue to post comments here and we will get them to the parks and rec folks.Read More

Jesse Kinsman

Jesse Kinsman I have visited Reno several times just to play and Bend is hours closer to where I live. It would definitely be a regular destination for me if there was a whitewater park. There are so few whitewater parks throughout the nation right now, that just adding one will make Bend the envy of many recreation towns.

Todd Van Hee

Todd Van Hee Bend is already such a great place, adding a play park will make it exponentially better. I can't imaging how great it will be to park-in-play in that environment and spend money to help the Bend economy. I have a long list of paddling friends who I know agree we me.

A white water park is ALL positive, it will entice more folks to stop in your town/city.
Green River Wyoming has a ww park and it is in the middle of a high desert along I-80, the park pulls many folks off the Interstate which means $ for the restuaraunts, c-stores, motels.... Plus the positives for the comunity. I don...ate my time to most river related activities at the park, as well as a lot of folks from our little WW club. Can't go wrong with a WW park!!!!Read More

I would more frequently make the trip from PDX to Bend if there was a whitewater park in town. Not to make the most of the opportunity to add construction of whitewater features as part of this spillway upgrade project in a city with Bend's recreation destination status just seems crazy. It is minutes from the town c...enter and next to a park... I never visit the Bend outside of ski season, the PPP and the annual kayak slalom race. There's just hot weather and flatwater. For the pole peddle paddle, I show up for the race and then head north ASAP to fish and paddle.Read More
