Wowza...just the idea of you reading "How to Sing for Money" with James Brown is terrific. The reality of it must have been sheer delight! You'd think they would have issued a special edition just for him - "How to Dance and Sing for Money" LOL

I've got some video on alleewillis.com of us in my studio the day this photo was taken. Here's a link to a short clip of us writing (a song about my dog, Orbit, who Mr. Brown was most in love with): http://www.alleewillis.com/soulpatch/links/jamesbrown-allee-orbit-song2b.html

Allee Willis Museum Of Kitsch It always amazes me that things like bubblegum, bacon, french fries and other foodstuffs that are not necessarily a tooth's best friend are the products that are made to nurture it: http://alleewillis.twi.bz/Jd

Dave Davis Facebook is all wacky today... So here goes again... Here you go... Archie, Betty, Veronica, Reggie, and even Sabrina the Witch had some cool moves back in the day... Watch Betty do that mean toe tapping thing on the piano at the start while her pa-dunk-a-dunk moves to the toe tapping too.... I am getting a cavity just... listening to the tune... Would this be worth Kitsch in your book?

Sugar Sugar was the number one selling record of 1969. It was heart attack sweet but I thought it was a great Pop record. Ron Dante, who also produced some of the hugest Barry Manilow hits, sang lead.

I love Betty and Veronica! I always wanted to be Veronica and I used to design clothes for her when I was in elementary school. Just talking about the Archie's this weekend! Those were the days.

Allee Willis Museum Of Kitsch BRILLIANT Jr. High Performance of “September” - http://alleewillis.twi.bz/J

The competition for my favorite version of September, which I co-wrote for Earth Wind & Fire, not to mention the dozens of other songs of mine whose copyrights are infringed upon daily on YouTube, is fierce. But this junior high school performa...nce rises to the top – the choreography, harmonies, costumes, cheap and glorious sound and grand finale swirling together to make the perfect Kitsch kocktail. Anyone who knows me knows I’ve seen very few of the original artists who’ve recorded my songs in concert yet I’ll drive hundreds of miles to hear someone doing them in some unrecognizable lifeform way. I only wish I could have been at this school for this performance! (For the video and more: http://alleewillis.twi.bz/J)

Allee Willis Museum Of Kitsch Allee Willis' Kitsch O' The Day - Ultra Cheap Donny & Marie Microphone And Song Sheets

Donny Osmond may have won Dancing With The Stars and a whole lotta money for his favorite charity but a whole lotta money was the last thing that was spent on manufacturing this toy microphone and song sheets set at the height of the ...Donny & Marie Show frenzy in 1976. Despite the claim on the package that you too can “CREATE YOUR OWN SONGS • MAKE YOUE OWN MUSIC” the non-working plastic mic attaches to nothing and won’t get you much farther than singing into a candle or a shoe or anything else remotely microphone shaped. Long before it was de rigueur for refrigerators to come equipped with automatic ice makers a contraption like this hung in almost every kitchen in the world allowing homemakers to crush fine or coarse ice without lifting a hammer, the previous method of accomplishing such a thing.

James Grissom

James Grissom Okay, this brings my Southern Baptist upbringing back in a haze of oilcloth, repression, and dusky Klan meetings held in a large park area while the children played games and the black help stood over. Irony reigned. (I spied on these meetings, in Denham Springs, Louisiana; my family, thank God, did not partake.) You w...ill love this video--the visual equivalent of two brownies served a la mad.
