"Beach Adopters Needed to Aid West Michigan Trash Cleanup"
For the second time in two years, the Alliance is calling on its beach adopters and any other volunteers to clear debris and collect information that could help pinpoint the source of a major trash washup on west Michigan shores.
Food wrappers, cigar tips, tampons, syringes and woody debris have been found on beaches in a déjà vu from June 2008, when tons of “mystery trash” washed up along the the west Michigan coastline.

Alliance for the Great Lakes Read this commentary from Gary Wilson at The Great Lakes Town Hall about the importance of holding government and business accountable to the letter and spirit of the Great Lakes Compact.

A few months after the Great Lakes Compact became law in 2008, I attended a Compact related event and struck up a conversation with an environmental advocate who had worked for its passage.

Karen Holland Anyone know how I could donate a craft item to AGL for an auction or something? I want to enter a contest, and one of the rules is that I donate to the charity of my choice... since my craft uses something I find along the Great Lakes, that's what I would want the prize money to go to!
