Michigan Sues Illinois Over Asian Carp
http://cbs2chicago.comcbs2chicago.com
Michigan's attorney general says his office will file a federal lawsuit to force the closure of Chicago-area locks, in a bid to prevent the dreaded Asian carp from entering Lake Michigan and ruining its ecosystem.

Dan Shreffler
Okay, thinking out loud, here. I'm not a biologist but I wonder if there isn't some way to genetically alter some Asian carp to make them carry a sterility gene or just a mutation that makes them succeptable to a common virus or bacteria in North America waters and then introduce this GMO fish into the invading populat...ion so that it will, in time, degrade the population through it's breeding with the healthy fish.
Perhaps this is pie-in-the-sky thinking, but I still wonder.
