Allison Smith To address Ellen's question: I have a BFA in Theatre, and plan was to be a theatre actress. I had moderate success with that and commercials and film, but I started doing radio commercials as a way of paying the bills in between acting jobs, and long story short: it became my mainstay. I first discovered telephony voic...ing when I was hired by Telus here in Alberta to do their mobility platform -- I fell in love with the nature of voicing good clean, consistent, even phone prompts. Lots of other jobs came my way as a result (not the *least* of which was Asterisk) and while I still dabble in acting, I love my job. It's challenging, fun, different every day, and I seem to meet an exemplary kind of person working in telephony. I love my geeks!

Despite all best measures, I am battling the *second* cold of the winter season -- unfortunately, a career built on my voice can be derailed by something as simple as the common cold! If I don't *sound* like me, I can't really record and expect sound files to match up with previous ones...
