Genesis 27 is the story of two brothers Jacob and Esau, their mother Rebekah and Isaac their old, blind and dying father. To sum up the story, Jacob, earlier in the story had purchased Esau's birthright for a bowl of soup; pretty good deal for him, not so much for Esau but hey, he was hungry.

Does the bible REALLY say that?

I stumbled across this list over on http://www.blueletterbible.org/faq/sayings.html#pass. It's a list of sayings believed to be from the bible but they're not. Some of the ideas may be similar to biblical teachings but the actual phrases are no where to be found in scripture.

Sorry Bon Jovi, Gwen Stefani and every other pop star that has used the cliche'istic title. It really isn't "your life". Oh sure, you're borrowing it for awhile but in the end, we have to give an account for what we do with it.

I'm about 8 hours late on the blog today but I made it!This has been a week. I'm sure many of you can relate but this one for me has been really, really different. For starters, it seems like everything (exageration) is breaking in my home.

We had a great evening connecting! We talked about the vision of SNU and our desire to reach out to the lost, the hurting and the next generation. We MUST go out, we can't sit back and wait for them to come to us. Hope to see you next time!
