Facebook backtracking on Terms of Use amendments?
Today Mark Zuckerberg posted on the Facebook blog that the controversial amendments to the terms of use would be rolled back for the time being.
In a previous blog post, he did stress that content on Facebook remains the property of and under the control of the people who upload it. Apparently, the changes to the terms of use were to clarify certain points to users. However, this was widely interpreted as Facebook taking ownership of all content on the site. Shift in Internet Age Mass
A great statistic fueled article by MediaPost that contrary to the image of Generation Y as being the ‘Net Generation,’ internet users in their 20s do not dominate every aspect of online life.
Some gems in the article include that according to surveys through 2008 by the Pew Internet and American Life Project, larger percentages of older generations are online now than in the past, and they are doing more activities online.

Mobile Website SEO
Mobile enabled websites or .Mobi sites is the big focus for 2009.
It is by no means a new focus and these sites have been developed since about 2006, evolving annually. Towards the second half of 2008 we saw the statistics for mobile web access as well as .mobi site development soar. According to statistics by Opera Mini, users viewed more than 5.7 billion pages in November 2008. Since October, page views have gone up 12.1%. Since November 2007, this number is up 303%.

We are thrilled to announce that AlterSage won the GoMoto NIPPI Scooter at last nights Springleap Hot100 awards for using our special promotional code the most in their recent Hot100 promotion.
The Hot100 was a promo aimed at the 100 trendiest companies in Cape Town. A really great initiative and so nice to see everyone getting involved and coming out to socialise and network at last nights event which was held at the Portfolio Gallery in Loop Street.
We took delivery of the scooter this morning and it’s already had a few spins around the parking lot, much to the amusement of the other occupants of our building! It’s definitely fun to drive and I’m sure we’ll make good use of it.

Welcome back!
AlterSage re-opened offices yesterday after a well-deserved short break and we are geared up for 2009. In 2008 the company grew significantly in terms of the team and our client base, and in 2009 we are looking to build on this.
The next 12 months are going to be both exciting and challenging for AlterSage. We have quite a few exciting projects and announcements in the pipeline, so be sure to keep an eye on our blog :)
Another exciting announcement: We are pleased to welcome Donovan Winterburn to the AlterSage team. Donovan has joined as the National Sales Manager and will be responsible for closely liaising with clients and the sales team to increase awareness of the AlterSage brand.
