Alvin Independent School District Mark Twain Primary receives $20,000 from HEB for the Alvin store's portion of the money the store got for selling the winning lotto ticket earlier this month. Principal Brenda Vincent said the money will be used for physical education equipment. HEB officials from San Antonio and the Houston area were on hand for the check presentation.
Alvin Independent School District Katy Jameyson Garza, Alvin High School Class of 1990, former Alvin High School teacher and volleyball coach and current teacher at ASSETS Academy, was named to the Texas UIL All-Century Volleyball Team - 1st Team. Only 30 players out of 80 nominees were named to this elite group.

Alvin Independent School District Recycling is alive and well in Alvin ISD as can be seen by the giant thank you that was made from the Vote Yes Alvin ISD Bond signs. The committee donated the signs to the Art Department at Manvel High School and the sculpture art students of Lisa Savage and Drew Bettge came up with the idea to make a giant thank you from the signs.

Alvin Independent School District Congratulations to the Manvel Mavericks for being chosen by High School Sports Live (Channel 55) as the Greater Houston Area Team of the Week. Watch Saturday at 5 p.m., Sunday at 3 p.m., or Monday at 8 p.m. as the Mavericks are honored for a great season.

will have it's season opener today at 4:00PM at the Alvin Bowling Center.
We currently have a boy's top 8 bowler and girl's top 16 bowler
from the 2009 State tournament. Come out and support the jackets this
