My mother had dementia and I was her sole caregiver for 8 years. The disease is devastating not only for the patient but the caregiver, as well. If I had to do it over again I would make the same choice to give up my life to take care of my mom. But, I had no idea at the beginning how difficult a journey it would be.

Alzheimer's Association, Orange County Chapter Gina Moran has been a volunteer with the Association for quite some time. She also cares for her mom, Alba full time. Gina has committed to volunteering in the office on a weekly basis. She also volunteered with me the day before the Fullerton Memory Walk and provided a huge support in the vendor/sponsor load-in areas.... She is always the first to lend a hand or volunteer her time. Alzheimer's Association, Orange County Chapter Lend you time and talents to fight against Alzheimer's this holiday season.

The Alzheimer's Association will hold holiday gift wrapping in the Brea Mall.

Shift duties include wrapping holiday presents, handing out Alzheimer's Association literature and hanging ornaments on our Memory Tree. Morning, afternoon and evening ...shifts are available. You don't need to be an expert gift wrapper- gift wrapping tutorials can be provided.

Shift times are available Saturday December 5th - Sunday December 6th 10am-8pm and Saturday December 12th - Thursday December 24th 10am-9pm.

To sign up to help at the Gift Wrapping Station to raise funds and awareness for Alzheimer's disease, contact Mallory Gompert at 949.757.3705 or Mallory.Gompert@alz.org.
