Mary Jo Anger

Mary Jo Anger This is taken from a blog of one of my pro-life FB friends: "A baby who is not planned, or not wished for, or whose coming is going to disrupt a busy, “important life,” or a baby who has special needs, all these babies are our greatest national treasures, and rejecting the easy option to kill them, in order to avoid the consequences of motherhood, is not above anyone’s pay grade."-Jeanette Pryor

American Association of Pro Life OB/GYNS Originally posted Oct 26, but only got to our "fans." Now out to a wider group. We will comment after we receive more comments. Original post: Let’s talk about “the hard cases.” Situation: your best friend was sexually assaulted by a stranger at knifepoint 8 weeks ago, and became pregnant from that assault. She asks for your advice. What will you advise her, and why? Please comment. Joe DeCook, aaplog

Of course, offering help is important. Additionally, having worked as a peer counselor in a crisis pregnancy center, I've seen how important emotional support is in times like these. I've seen far too many brilliant and vibrant young women driven to the brink of giving up the lives of their unborn children because they feel the whole world is ... Read Moreagainst them. I imagine this would be all the more true in the case of rape, where the mother is reminded each and every day of the horror of what has been done to her. May God help all those who find themselves in such a situation, and give them the courage to choose life!

I know two people that were raped and became pregnant( even though most rapes do not result in pregnancy). One mother gave her child up for adoption and "redeemed the evil act" the other mother kept the child and later found a wonderful man to marry and raise the child with. Both mothers are glad they did not destroy thier children, both children are beautiful and perfect.

I am curious is anyone else has had similar problems to me. I used this group when looking for an OB-GYN when I first needed one. I found one on the list in my area (who btw) is still on the list. That having been said, the only thing he/his staff didn't reccomend was abortion. Amnio=no problem, other genetic test=...no problem, and most importantly birth control (ads all over the office and asked what I was going to use after the birth of my first baby at 30)= no problem. If that is pro-life than I guess my definition is different than others.Read More

Jenni: aaplog is absolutely opposed to abortifacient pills. Mifeprex is a demonstrated abortifacient. As for birth control pills--read the discussion board, as suggested above. To go more indepth, go to http://www.aaplog.org/PositionsAndPapers/OralContraceptiveControversy.aspx?fileID=1
The preimplantation abortifacient question for bcp is an honest controversy, not a demonstrated fact, with strongly prolife doctors on both sides. jdc/aaplog

I have read and will continue to read articles related to this issue. I understand where you are coming from but as a pro-life individual, I thought when I first located your site that it would be a like minded place to find a Dr.
Last night I just wanted your other readers to know my experiences. As I have mentioned before I will continue to ... Read Moreuse your site and I just reccomended it to someone last week. I just think that people who think like I do should be informed that in some cases their pro-life dr.s will still reccommend BC pills.

Kathy Mercer

Kathy Mercer There's an article in the current International Journal of Childbirth Education (a publication of ICEA) regarding childbirth after abortion. The article is called "Broken Maternity: A Sisterhood of Sorrow" by Kathryn Lane Berkowitz on p. 25 of this journal. Here's the link: http://www.myvirtualpaper.com/doc/First-Point-Management-Resources/CBEd-Sep09-FINAL2medres/2009092501/?lang=en

Dr. DeCook, I would love an opportunity to share my story if you have conferences or seminars. My friend is Dr, Martha Shuping, who has done some research in the area of post abortion trauma. I have worked with her on many projects since the early 80's.

Being raped is a horrible experience. Having an abortion will add a second horrible experience, that will not erase the first from her mind, but add more anguish. There is a way to make a ray of light shine in all this sadness, and that is if she chooses life for her baby that could possibly be the answer to some couple's prayers, if she chooses to give it away. This innocent little being did nothing wrong, and is a victim of her attacker just as much as she is.

Very hard decision, but any anger should not be taken out on the unborn child!!

Meira Lettieri Kingberg

Meira Lettieri Kingberg For years in the US if I moved to a new community I would call the local anti-abortion organization to find a doctor who didn't perform them. The organizations were always a little paranoid but I managed to convince them of my intentions to NEVER have a baby murderer touch me. Thank G-d these doc are organizing and making themselves known.

Angela Carroll

Angela Carroll By the grace of God I finally found Dr. Pilkington in Denton TX--was beginning to think these doc's didn't exist....thank you
