Rome marks the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall on 9 November 1989 with a program of events and initiatives throughout the city. “Venti di Libertà”: (literally meaning “winds of freedom”, but also a pun on the Italian word for 20), including performances, exhibitions, conferences and debates organized b...y the city council in conjunction with the Goethe-Institut and other national and international cultural and political institutions.
On November 9th at 11.00 a.m. the mayor of Rome will inaugurate the multimedia installation “Un Muro Percepito” two tracts of the 155-km Berlin wall will be reconstructed by the Spanish Steps. At 6.30 p.m. there will be a free concert in Piazza di Spagna.
