Compares and contrasts the policies, structures, purposes, and contents of mass media systems within the three "worlds" of development. This course examines issues of access and diversity, the impact of new technologies and pressure for privatization on centralized public service systems. It also examines the amount and nature of the flow of news and images around the world and the implications of the flow for global conflict or cooperation.

UMass Amherst Communication Graduate Students and Alumni Fitchburg State College needs an adjunct to cover one section of Human Communication, which is a required interpersonal course for junior and senior undergraduates. The course will meet on Tuesday and Thursday from 2:00 - 3:15. There is a possibility of another course being offered in the same day. The compensation is... set by the union agreement and is in the $3500 range. There is also the possibility for spring courses.
