
Having only my imagination to guide me, I entered Death Valley expecting along flat area with not much apart from sand, dirt and the odd stone. Just like so many times on this trip, our imagination was put to shame by the beauty of our surroundings...

After the breathtaking scenery of Yosemite, coming down into the desert of Eastern California offered a strong contrast...

After 3 awesome days in Yosemite, we headed down over Tioga Pass on Highway 395 in Eastern California past Bishop towards the Mojave Desert and Death Valley on the border of Nevada...

We took three days off to hike and explore Yosemite National Park. It was incredible. November is a good time to go as there were very few tourists, but I guess we were lucky not to be snowed out that time of year...

We cycled into San Fran intime for Critical Mass - a global event that I believe was started in San Fran to raise awareness of cyclists on the road...

We are right now in Puerto Maldonado, Peru, in the Southwestern border of the Amazon Basin. Soon we will get out of here through a road reaching as high as 4900 m over the sea level, and we will again pass by the gold mines of the Amazon Basin. They are everywhere...

In spite of the violence and the sordid happenings in La Bulla, the work is well organized in teams where everyone has a specific task...

Finally made it into San Francisco - the last few days were incredible - some of the most stunning coastal scenery I had ever seen, all enhanced by amazing weather and sunsets every night...

The photos and video make the ride down the Northern Coast of California look incredible - it was amazing to get out of the forests and back on the coast, but the constant swtichbacks, up and downs, and lack of shoulder to ride on almost broke me to tears. 6400km so far and hurting still......

Cycling through the Avenue of Giants made us feel very small. The Redwoods are the largest trees in the World and riding a bike for 30 miles through the forests was an awe inspiring experience. These tree grow over 300 feet and some are wide enough to drive a car through....
