My introduction to music began when my grandfather showed me his silver saxaphone he played during the Big Band Era. During my last year of high school I bought my first guitar. I lived in Burlington, Vermont for a year playing open mics before moving to Boulder, CO. It was here my old band The Samples played their first show. Our first album was released in 1990 on Arista Records. We also released several recordings on Boulder's independent label W.A.R.?, one on MCA, and somehow remained a band. Our first tours had us playing with acts such as The Wailers, Johnny Clegg, Black Uhuru, Aswad, Jimmy Cliff, Burning Spear, Steel Pulse, and more. The mid 90's saw us performing on a number of H.O.R.D.E. tours, which included several headlining dates. The rest of the decade was spent getting ripped off by lawyers, managers, and accountants, meanwhile touring with everyone from to Sting to Sonic Youth.
That was then, this now is. New century, new tunes. I am playing music for pure fun again. In my spare time, with friends and mostly in my attic. I never thought that music and business belonged in the same sentence anyway! You can find my stuff for sale cheap (never more than 6 dollars a disk, just enough to cover the cost of making them) at cdbaby.com. If they are out of a particular CD, the albums are also available in mp3 form. You don't need all that plastic anyway. Just look for Andy Sheldon or FLY EYE (my imaginary band). Thanks, everyone!
And now, for my thousands of fans in Bavaria, I will repeat portions of the last paragraph in German.
Das war dann, dieses ist jetzt. Neues Jahrhundert, neue Melodien. Danke, jeder!
