Shapiro Undergraduate Library Are you a great speller? Terrible speller? Somewhere in between? No matter your spelling abilities, join undergraduate librarian Emily Hamstra, and School of Information student with National Spelling Bee experience Anand Kalra, for a night of spelling mayhem. Come strut your spelling skillz, win prizes, and enjoy free... snacks! This event is part of the MLibrary Spotlight Series, and all are welcome. Registration encouraged (via ehamstra@umich.edu), but not required.

Peter Kuper- Revolutions and Art: Comics and Political Art and their Application through History
Renowned artist and author, Peter Kuper is the co-founder of the political graphics magazine World War 3 Illustrated. He is the author of numerous other works, and has done covers for Time and Newsweek. His comics have appe...ared in The New Yorker, the New York Times, Mother Jones, The Nation and Harpers, and MAD Magazine, where he writes and draws Spy vs. SPY monthly.
On October, 29th, he will be on hand to deliver a visual presentation and lecture. Kuper will discuss propaganda and political graphics effectively used by artists around the world
