Radio “Shock Jock,” Grant Mazzy has once again been kicked off of the “Big Cit...y” airwaves for his truculent, abrasive rhetoric and finds himself clinging to the slippery edges of the broadcast industry. In a small radio station in the remote Canadian town of Pontypool, he soldiers on with CLSY’s “Mazzy in the Morning,” Pontypool’s very own early morning radio show. There is a raging blizzard outside and Mazzy spikes his coffee with liquor in full view of his producer Sydney Briar and Afghanistan veteran/sound technician, Laura-Ann Drummond. Just as he begins the tedium of reciting school cancellations and trying his best to insert his trademark verbal barbs into the bland normalcy of his routine – something happens. Something that changes the lives of everyone in Pontypool.
