Every once in a while you find great art. After curating a bunch of
rather uninspiring work in the morning (about 100 of them), I tried to
catch up on my emails and amongst them a message from a Danish artist
with a link to his website. What a pleasant surprise to find truly
stunning and visionary images.

Q: I was wondering about your background, when you decided you wanted to be an artist, where you studied (if you studied)?

Anne Stahl - contemporary abstract landscape painting Detail of grid image. I added more wax and surface scratches, then it got dusted in a green metallic pigment. Shimmering through is the print, paint and previous wax layers, with the scratches picking up a lot of the pigment. Full image coming soon.

While I deliberate over how to continue on the previous piece, this painting appeared on a new panel. Quite as if by magic.
Like most it's encaustic on panel with a print base. This one also includes raw pigment (chalk).
