What Sherry Sanders said....why should we buy into the hype surrounding "skinny"....these real women are far more beautiful and appealing!

I would love to have seen these images before they were totally retouched. Please do not think I am against real images of women, I am not at all, but these are so heavily adjusted. It would be divine to see real women as real women. Any way of seeing what was actually done?

Erica Mary

Erica Mary So did Brittany die due to an eating disorder? We don't know yet, I know, but it's sounding like she may have. So wrong. RIP Brittany.

Any-Body Store in UK drops plus-size clothing because 'it doesn't fit their image.'

www.shinystyle.tv
Last week Selfridges announced it was dropping it's plus size Marina Rinaldi range, which has sizes from 14 to 26, as according to The News of The World, it "doesn't fit their image."

All they are doing is advertising what jerks they are. Pathetic!

Any-Body Check out the post how plus-size model Crystal Renn 'takes on a traditional model to prove fashion can flatter any figure'. Great post Jill! Thanks!

Jill

Jill A neat take on showing how fashion can be made to look good on ANY size! So, designers, DO IT!

www.dailymail.co.uk
Renn, 23, is pictured alongside fashion's latest new face, Jacquelyn Jablonski, who at just 17 has already modelled for Calvin Klein Jeans and Proenza Schouler.

She doesn't look very plus-sized to me, though. I mean, I would never guess her a size 16, more like a curvy 8. Anyone else?

Any-Body Fab article about the 'rise of plus-size' in fashion today.

I see this as waaay more complicated than skinny/fat. There are as many body styles as there are face styles. This looks like a step in the right direction. Now lets take a look at various body styles (and maybe even make clothes for them.) Did you know that approximately 1/2 of women qualify as "petite," for example? The midget

Interesting.

So...because being overweight is "unhealthy", there shouldn't be clothing for people? For some, this is a temporary state, for others it's long term...and for others, it's not unhealthy, it's just the way we are built. We DO run marathons/triathalons, etc. We ALL come in different sizes, shapes whether it's curvy, thick, rail thin, or... See More a yes..healthy 300 lbs. Pamela is right...it IS way more complicate that "skinny/fat". People are so quick to put others in their own little categories. KUDOS to PLUS SIZE runway shows!!

How true - those photoshopped pictures are false advertising. I wonder how the public would react if they photoshopped things like cars and clothes, then when you go to buy one, what you get is very, very different.

Any-Body Will you be in NYC on Sunday, December 20th from 1 pm - 2pm? Join the Ralph Lauren protest @ 72nd & Madison Avenue at the Ralph Lauren store. National media could be there.

Have you seen the latest string of ads Ralph Lauren is churning out?Ralph Lauren's latest ads depict photo-shopped models that even Barbie couldn't compete with. Apparently, one of the biggest labels in fashion thinks that women's heads should be wider than their waists. ...

Any-Body The UK takes a stand on photoshopped ads - banning a digitally enhanced Twiggy from appeaing in Olay's miracle cream ads! Ah the miracle that is photoshop!

Perhaps we should start calling 2009 the year of the airbrush. The latest Photoshop scandal involves not an emaciated model nor a bizarrely-retouched actress on the cover of a fashion magazine, but instead a 60-year-old icon with not enough…

that is true. several years ago, i worked at a theater twiggy performed at and while she was quite lovely she had ( as we all will) aged. it is sad we cant celebrate her true loveliness.

These images in Ralph Lauren's ads are linked to the promotion of eating disorders. They perpetuate the illusion that only when you achieve "thinness" will you be beautiful, adored and loved.
