Tornadoes

Tornadoes Davis Vantage Pro2 Station, Richmond VA. Record High for the year is 96...Hopefully tomorrow we'll break 100. Weird summer in VA so far. Plenty of storms, but they all miss Richmond. Norfolk/VA Beach has been hammered though. I want one good severe storm before the summer is out. Hail, winds over 58 mph...No hurricanes... yet either (it is kinda early), but one cat 1 or 2 would be nice...

It's well into hurricane season...it's not early. We've got Tropical Depression 2 in the Atlantic though, hopefully she'll become a good Hurricane Ana

Millions?!? More like ~100 people, Sheyenne. Never more than 150. Worldwide. Consider this:

In 2007, there were...
* 81 tornado fatalities in the USA.
* 41059 people killed by a drunk driver in the USA.... See More

Now what are you more afraid of: tornadoes or drunk drivers?

Tornadoes Anyone out there have a Weather Station? If so, what type, and does it upload it's data to a website?

I have a Davis Vantage Pro2, and the data page is below

I'm data-challeneged. How does this work, exactly? I signed up at this site but it tells me that Internet Explorer can't open it. Do I need another device or server?

I think you're probably right. There seems to be a "chic" factor now related to chasing. I'm amazed at the merchandise that's available to the general public and the amount of TV coverage they get. I think just about everybody has heard of the "TIV."

That's totally absurd. Modern tornado data is obtained via NOAA doppler stations dotted around the country.

They don't trust "Bubba from Oklahoma" just because he sez that thar wuz a tornaydo in his yard.

More eyes = more reports? LOL!!!
