Appalachian Sustainable Agriculture Project I hear people are having trouble locating Christmas trees. Three farmers tailgate markets in the Asheville area should be offering LOCAL Christmas trees this weekend:

Asheville City Market
Saturdays, 10:00a.m.- 2:00p.m
in a special location at Pack Square for the holidays, through December 19

Holiday Bazaar at French Broad... Food Co-op
Saturdays,1:00a.m-4:00p.m.
at 76 Biltmore Avenue in downtown Asheville

North Asheville Tailgate Market
Saturdays, 8:00am-noon
on the UNCA campus

Outside the Asheville area, search our Local Food Guide at www.buyappalachian.org for the market nearest you.

Or, search this website for NC trees: http://ncchristmastrees.com/

Some local businesses and farmers market vendors give them away. But the surest way to get one is to stop by the table outside our office in West Asheville: http://www.asapconnections.org/directions.html

Appalachian Sustainable Agriculture Project Do you have favorite Thanksgiving recipes using local ingredients? The recipes don’t have to be standard Thanksgiving fare, just seasonal and celebratory. We’re interested in meats other than turkey, vegetarian main dishes, sides, etc. too. Please post or send to rose@asapconnections.org. Your recipe may be published o...n our website, in newspapers, and elsewhere—with credit to you, your farm, or your business, of course.
