Hoping for a miracle: Budget woes forcing closure of Natural History Museum

HSU Natural History Museum provides sooooo much to the community, especially in the way of education to the people of the community. How can such a valuable resource just be closed down? Is there a board of directors that might be able to help? Or a student group? Or an affluent person in the community?

Humboldt State University will be forced to close its Natural History Museum permanently by the end of August. The closure is due to this year’s severe and unprecedented state budget cuts to the California State University system.

Any society that has to have football teams, but not natural history museums, is probably doomed. The Kellys are very sad today.

I saw a Mountain Blue Bird in the Bristle Cone Pine Forest in the White Mountains on Sunday. He flew away before I could get a picture though. The pines are really awesome too! Who knew they had so much slight genetic variations from each other?
