New York City Opera’s VOX program is a free two-day annual festival of new opera, offering emerging and established American composers and librettists the opportunity to hear their works performed by a full orchestra and world class singers.
The 10th Anniversary of VOX will present ten bold new works, including such p...rominent composers as Stephen Schwartz, Jonathan Dawe, and David Bruce. In addition to eight previously unperformed operas, VOX SECOND LOOK presents new excerpts of two pieces previously performed at VOX, including: Anne LeBaron’s Crescent City (VOX 2006) and Gordon Beeferman’s The Rat Land (VOX 2007). This addition to the program gives audiences a chance to see how past entries have progressed and evolved since first appearing at the festival.
VOX is open to the public. All events are free, but reservations are highly recommended.
Please see http://vox-nyco.com/ for more information.
