On a day so beautiful it sucked the air right out of you, a group of Boy Scouts, parents, and Vail residents played gleefully in the dirt and the mud. This was the kind of fun only kids can get away with, but the event had the deeper purpose of preserving Vail's Old Post Office.

Arizona Preservation Foundation MESA: Hopefully the "new vision" will incorporate preserving what's authentic and unique about Mesa.

Source: www.azcentral.com
The plans, visions, and proposals that have poured forth over the years about reviving downtown Mesa might, if piled together, reach as high as one of the skyscrapers that never got built there. But now, armed with a $300,000 federal stimulus grant, Mesa is making another run at it.

If they want authentic, they need to spend money to tear down those idiot awnings that completely unauthenticated Main Street. The spend more money to preserve the few old neon signs left in the Valley. Mesa Art Center is a beautiful and wondrous place. Too bad they generally book Vegas dreck in the amazing performance spaces.
