Transportation Policy, Operations, & Logistics Program at GMU

Transportation Policy, Operations, & Logistics Program at GMU On October 2nd, 2009, TPOL students visited Carmen Turner Training and Maintenance Center as a part of their coursework - PUBP715 Introduction to Transportation Systems, instructed by Professor Jonathon L. Gifford. The trip was organized by Washington Metro and sponsored by Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transpor...t, North American section. At this tour, students had an inside look at one of the country's leading transit operators: how it is designed to deal with emergency and how to train future drivers. They went into the Emergency Response Training Tunnel, Rollover Train (see pictures) and some of them tried the bus simulator!
