Art South Africa's winter 2008 issue (available now) looks at the state of the South African art scene beyond the Joburg Art Fair.

In addition to its usual mix of news analysis and insightful critical opinion, there is a series of interviews with South African art-world personalities Linda Givon, Marilyn Martin, Monna Mokoena, Warren Siebrits and Michael Stevenson.

Artists under review include El Anatsui, Bongi Bengu, Paul Edmunds, Robert Hodgins, William Kentridge, Lyndi Sales and Edoardo Villa.

The selection of articles from the current issue posted online will be on the slim side for now. We're redesigning for the next issue, both the magazine and site.

The Pan African Space Station (PASS) is a 4-day music intervention from October 1-4, 2008 across Cape Town. The festival, curated by Ntone Edjabe and Neo Muyanga, is presented by the Africa Centre with the support of Spier.

PASS intends one of the headline acts of the festival to be a unique radio station that will broadcast 30 days of cutting edge music from global Africa to the greater Cape Town. This will be a true meeting place for the diverse music audiences in the city.

To secure a FM broadcast licence, PASS needs your support. They need to convince the authorities at ICASA that Cape Town needs, wants and will support this radio station.
