      • Iris M Gross It's limited. You can crop. You can't adjust levels or anything. iPhoto is much better at that kind of thing. And even that pales compared to Photoshop or even one of the web-based image editors.

                  • Iris M Gross I actually got some advice along those lines today in my e-mail. The advice I was given was to keep it simple. One style. One subject matter. A hodgepodge of styles, I was told, make for an unprofessional portfolio that looks like homework assignments.

                  • Artist's Market Online It seems to depend on the employer that's looking over your work. Some like one thing, but a lot also like to know that you can do other work. A good mix is always helpful, but having a particular niche (that you can stray from if needed) seems to be your safest bet. Good luck!

                  • Iris M Gross Thanks! I'm new at striking out on my own, so I take advice from anybody who's actually doing it! I guess if all else fails, if they answer the mailer and ask for the portfolio, I could ask if they want to see variety or similar work at that time.
